High aspect ratio foils = higher mast loads During the first ART foil tests, our research team quickly realized that higher aspect ratios and wider foil spans applied more bending and torsional forces to the mast.

So, while ART foils were a game-changer even on our existing masts, we knew there was still huge untapped potential to be realized. So began a brand new development project, and we couldn't be more excited about the result. With a new power profile and carefully considered material selection and placement, AXIS Power Carbon offers both superior stiffness and next-level strength. By opting for a one-piece design, we've avoided the flow/drag and assembly problems associated with multi-part mast constructions.

What's more, and most importantly, tests prove that the maximum load is concentrated near the base plate, which is why the mast tapers thicker at this point to support the loads. Any joint or two-part construction in this high-load zone would destroy the integrity of the mast. A revised fuselage connection design maximizes the size of the attachment point to achieve a perfect fit with the fuselage, reducing any risk of unwanted movement. The result is a positive connection feel, direct drive, immediate feedback and ultimate control. High aspect foils work as they should, feel and control a whole new realm.

The new high-moduluscarbon fiber used in our mast placement is considerably stiffer and stronger than the ordinary carbon fiber used in conventional construction. The innovative, thoughtful and balanced placement of materials in our proprietary production process, combined with rigorous testing, has resulted in breathtaking performance.

The driving characteristics are such a game-changer that it was hard to convince our team riders to return the prototypes after testing!
